Top Country Songs 2010

Country music is a specific music genre which is a blend of traditional and popular music that was predominant in the southern states of United States.  The South has a large ethnic community and the mix has created what has become popular as Country and Western music. Basically country music is characterized by a simple chord progression, a very strong storyline and a memorable chorus, where the sound of banjos, fiddles, harmonicas and guitars prevail. Most of the country songs are about love, family, beliefs and relationships, some composed by cowboys, with simple melodies and simple lyrics. There are many Country Music singers and groups in the past and today who have remained on top of the music charts. Think of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles and Dwight Yoakam. In recent years you heard the songs of Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Garth Brooks, Linda Rondstadt and Taylor Swift, whose songs incorporated rock and country. The year 2010 has been a year that saw an eclectic mix of country with pop crossovers where the top country songs 2010 were sung by new and fairly young singers.
